We offer both standard and e-bike rental from 2hrs up to a full day. It’s the perfect way to explore Te Anau or venture out onto the Lake2Lake Cycle trail.
All bike hires are on a first come first serve basis – we only accept pre-bookings for those doing a Jet Boat & Bike combo – see below for more info!

All our bikes are well looked-after, regularly serviced, and comfy. Helmets, map and briefing are included with all rentals. Convenient, free parking is located behind the Fiordland Jet office.

Our Recommendation
River Bike Ride + Jet Boat Combo
Our personal recommendation would be to join us via jet boat for even more stunning scenery. Explore the Waiau River through Fiordland National Park all the way to a remote bay on Lake Manapouri and back to the boat ramp (no road traffic!) Then enjoy the best 11km of the trail back to town, pass the Lake Te Anau Control Gates and make your way around the bottom of Lake Te Anau back to our office – it’s the best way to take it all in!
Grade 2-3: Easy to Moderate
Lake2Lake Trail
This scenic bike trail runs along the Waiau river between Lake Te Anau to Manapouri and is suitable for families and riders of all skill levels. Featured as the Anduin River in the Lord of the Rings films, the Waiau River is world famous and renowned for its breathtaking scenery and trout fishing. Grab a picnic lunch and stop along the way to enjoy the peaceful flow of the river and local bird song.
The whole trail is 30km long (part of it requires biking along the road) but some of its best sections are accessible without any road riding. Opt for a standard bike if you’re looking for some decent exercise or upgrade to an e-bike if it’s ‘been a while’ since you’ve had your bum in the saddle or you’re just looking for some fun, fresh air and light exercise. Shuttles are available for drop off at Manapouri to bike one direction–enquire with guest numbers and date for pricing/availability.

Te Anau Lake Front
Head north from our office along the lakefront and check out the local rugby field and rodeo grounds along the way before getting a stunning view north up the 65km-long Lake Te Anau. You’ll then cruise along the UPak river before meeting up with neighbourhood roads and meandering through Te Anau’s newest development through town back to our office.
